Ubuntu 20.04 Root on ZFS HOWTO

I'm pleased to announce the Ubuntu 20.04 Root on ZFS HOWTO.
This version has some significant changes. Please test thoroughly before using this setup on any production systems. Your feedback is very welcome—here or via the issue tracker.
This now uses a dataset layout that matches that created by the Ubuntu installer and accordingly supports zsys. For more information on zsys, see the articles from didrocks's blog, Ars Technica (written by mercenary_sysadmin), and Phoronix.
Additionally, thanks to work by George Melikov, the documentation (including these HOWTOs) has moved from being Markdown in the GitHub wiki to a Sphinx-based system in a separate openzfs-docs repository. Previously, the wiki only allowed edits by approved contributors and GitHub wikis do not support pull requests. This new repository allows for pull requests, which opens the door to more people to contribute to the OpenZFS documentation. Having a separate repository also means there is a separate issue tracker.
If this or any of my open source work has been useful to you, please consider sponsoring me if you are able. Recurring sponsorship is available via GitHub Sponsors and one-time sponsorship can be done via PayPal. If you prefer Bitcoin, you can use: 3LyXJSiL6C2d6qEF8VcRciT2VJWNhqbWJ4

Why are there no packages for Bitcoin in Linux?

Trying to install a Bitcoin core node. I have decent IT knowledge, very little programming knowledge. This is a nightmare trying to get this going. I'm on Ubuntu server 18.04 (very stable). I can't see any application packages available in the software center, nor on the official github repo. I'm getting an error: E: Unable to locate package bitcoin-qt when sudo apt-get install bitcoin-qt AND sudo apt-get bitcoin
Can someone please explain why it is so difficult to setup a full node?
submitted by Bala-in-da-capital to Bitcoin [link] [comments]

Question about LND

I compiled LND from source on Ubuntu 18 and have a full (non-pruned) indexed bitcoind node on the same machine. The setup instructions say to use
lnd --bitcoin.active --bitcoin.testnet --debuglevel=debug --bitcoin.node=bitcoind --bitcoind.rpcuser=xxxx --bitcoind.rpcpass=xxxx --bitcoind.zmqpubrawblock=tcp://127.0.0.1:28332 --bitcoind.zmqpubrawtx=tcp://127.0.0.1:28333 --externalip=xxxx
However, I didn't use --bitcoin.testnet. I used --bitcoin.mainnet instead. Is that ok? Are there any drawbacks to this? I can confirm that the wallet was created in ~/.lnd/data/chain/bitcoin/mainnet/ Also, my bitcoin.conf file has testnet=0. I haven't done anything else yet.

New Qubes OS Room on Matrix!

New Qubes OS Room on matrix!

This is just to let potentially interested people know that there is now a new Qubes OS room on matrix which is part of the +cybersec:matrix.org community. The rules for this group are simple, have a (qubes-ish) question, ask a (qubes-ish) question or take it to #cybersec-offtopic. In general the main rule is don't be a D*ck (not duck in case you were wondering, ducks are fine).

Some reasons/examples of why Qubes might be of interest:

And many more reasons. The room welcomes all, if you are a noob come ask a question, if you are a guru (not even necessarily with Qubes but maybe distro or application specific) please come and help add to the knowledge base! One of the main goals here is to have flexible and civil support/discussions related to Qubes.

Hope to see you all there!
PS Apologies to the mods if you do not consider this appropriate, I reviewed the rules and think its ok? My reasons for cross posting is that I think Qubes has a very real use case for this subreddit so I thought it would be useful for users in these subreddits and hopefully helpful for Qubes users as well.

How can a TKEY messenger allow you to send funds anywhere in the world without commissions and in a matter of seconds?

How can a TKEY messenger allow you to send funds anywhere in the world without commissions and in a matter of seconds?

https://preview.redd.it/fnny8lcxse651.png?width=700&format=png&auto=webp&s=cbed2ff5216eb1dc813764d99f5b12dda17a37ab
Yesterday was the official release of the new flagship product — Tkey Messenger. Messenger is available in the browser and on desktops for the most popular systems Windows, macOS, and Linux. Soon, smartphone owners will be able to try out Tkey Messenger in action, the app will appear in the App Store and Google Play.
https://preview.redd.it/f4ca4g0nue651.png?width=1400&format=png&auto=webp&s=c857c896bf71771e3d01e0210f24da9a4fb68887
In the era of rapid communication and technology development, messengers have become our default products. We use them for business purposes, to communicate with friends and acquaintances — this has long been the norm. It would seem that why are other messengers created when there are many other instant messaging systems?
Today we will talk about what a Tkey Messenger is, what it can do today, what features will be included in it in the future, and most importantly, what we are creating It for and how we will develop it.

TKEY.ME

The abbreviated name of Tkey Messenger is tkey.me. First of all, TKEY-ME is a secure messenger with p2p audio and video calls, and in the future, a built-in digital wallet.
“Every day we communicate in messengers. We earn money at work. We make purchases and transfers. We are here to combine these processes in one application and make sending funds as easy as sending a message”

The Tkey Messenger as a new ecosystem

Do you think we are here to compete with other messengers? — No, there are a lot of great messengers. We are here to create our ecosystem and the internal market in it. Combine these processes in one application and make sending funds as easy as sending a message.
After all, we work in the field of FINTECH, cryptography, and blockchain, why not apply the best practices and knowledge in practice? Therefore, the TKEY Messenger should be considered for a large ecosystem.
This is a new payment segment that covers fast communication tools in combination with an internal payment system, a set of exchange practices, blockchain, cryptography, our own experience, and the experience of global companies.

How will the Tkey Messenger ecosystem work?

https://preview.redd.it/17bml1zpue651.png?width=1400&format=png&auto=webp&s=99ebd70745968452536546fb5a59841e8f3a9c52
Let’s start with the most important thing: money should be sent in a matter of seconds, regardless of the country of issue of the Bankcard and wherever you are.

Here is a simple example:

You or your relatives live abroad and you want to send funds quickly, for example, 2600 USD — you just open a chat with your loved one, send a message and 2600 USD in the same second become available on your loved one’s account.
https://preview.redd.it/nmz4ienrue651.png?width=697&format=png&auto=webp&s=c3902fc0df1ed2eba425c3f3db3eb8c40bc7a237
It turns out that you can exchange Tkeycoin for USD, EUR, or GBP in a matter of seconds, as well as instantly send them to any place in the world and without hidden fees, the exchange amount is immediately available on the screen.
Or you have Bitcoin, and the Recipient needs dollars — Tkey Messenger will take care of all the complex tasks, you will only need to send a message to make the payment.
Each completed payment will be processed through a digital payment system without Bank intervention. You can link your Bank card to automatically withdraw digital funds to your local currency.

Do you want to simplify payments even more?

Order a TKEY card, and it will automatically be linked to your Tkey Messenger account. Make payments online, make purchases in stores — it’s just as easy as you did before, only much more convenient, faster, and safer.
https://preview.redd.it/42f1dkktue651.png?width=1400&format=png&auto=webp&s=7305192230c379c0fe81d981208a8cef8a540a5c
The most important thing is that you can easily use digital assets in combination with Fiat currencies — just top up your account in messenger to start sending currency around the world.
“Moving money around the world should be as easy and cheap as sending a message. It doesn’t matter where you live, what you do, or how much you earn.”

Send TKEY or Bitcoin via message, has it become a reality?

In Tkey Messenger, you will be able to quickly send digital currency using a message. You can not specify a public address, but send a digital currency using a message.
Instantly send funds to friends or relatives anywhere in the world. No Bank, no problems, no hidden fees.

Top up your mobile phone or pay for the Internet?

The usual payments, such as the Internet or mobile payments, will certainly be available, because if we can transfer pounds from England to Canada in a matter of seconds, and the recipient will receive dollars, why can’t we make a payment for the Internet? “Of course you can.

Transfer funds by a nickname

You don’t need to know the recipient’s account, just send funds by their nickname to the Tkey Messenger, and the funds will arrive within a few seconds. Fast, convenient, and safe.

What do we get in the future when using a Tkey Messenger?

We get an ideal payment system with instant transactions, fast access to various currencies, including digital, instant international payments, a huge platform for business, a marketplace with trusted sellers, secure transactions, while fast communication, p2p calls, and video communication. Not to mention various chips, in the format: cashback, savings account, invest. products, etc.
  • International transfers without Commission and in seconds;
  • Instant account opening — just create an account to get access to payments;
  • Access to funds 24/7/365 wherever you are.
  • Multi-currency wallet — you can use both digital currencies and classic currencies, such as the pound, euro, and dollar.
  • Payment in digital currency anywhere in the world.
  • Save time and money.

How is this possible, you say?

More than real, we will answer. At the very beginning of the project, we planned to create a marketplace, and then finalized the concept with NFC payments in TkeyPay. Smoothly, all this develops into a single system, which will be merged into a Tkey Messenger.
The Tkey Messenger is convenient and secure, payment system, and marketplace. The entire financial industry is in your hands-in your smartphone.
https://preview.redd.it/ullvuelexe651.png?width=1001&format=png&auto=webp&s=ef883fa9de067b885138a231069ddc3c0414c7d3
The mobile Finance industry is developing rapidly against the backdrop of a growing number of Internet users and the increasing role of smartphones in modern life. Today, the mobile device market attracts about 2 billion people, who remain passive players in financial markets.
With the Tkey Messenger access, you always get access to instant Finance, shopping, and the nice things you want to get here and now. In practice, it has turned out that we can often forget the keys to the apartment, rather than the phone, so your finances will always be with you.

Join the global Tkey Messenger system right now

Release 1.0.0 is available in the web version and for Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems, and shortly on your mobile devices.

Current functionality of Tkey Messenger 1.0.0

The Tkey Messenger version 1.0.0 is the core that opens up new features that we discussed above, payments, and more. Now it is a convenient and stylish messenger with an intuitive design, instant messaging, and secure audio and video communication.

The P2P audio and video calls in a Tkey Messenger

When creating the first version, we focused on high-quality video and audio communication. Now you can easily call by video and be sure that you will get a high-quality video stream, as well as the absence of restrictions from third parties because the connection is carried out on the principle of p2p.
Audio and video calls are made in p2p mode, so there is no recording of calls at all.
https://preview.redd.it/lyrnkfhgxe651.png?width=1384&format=png&auto=webp&s=fb0c93ca45fa6bd4f65c77f64c81b88b906e904a
You can chat with friends and colleagues around the world for free, and excellent audio and video quality will only positively affect the quality of your conversation.

Calls in the web version

The web version of Tkey Messenger is available at → http://web.tkey.me/. The web version has full call functionality, so you can easily call through it, both via video and audio.
Video calls are available with the “Share” function, you can easily “share” your screen for the interlocutor and show what is happening on it. This function can be used for presentations or training events.
Screen Sharing is a demonstration and broadcast of the screen. “Share” your screen for the interlocutor and show what is happening on it.
https://preview.redd.it/x5h6au9ixe651.png?width=459&format=png&auto=webp&s=9b71b9148b17b55636c5615cbf7d6535cc78aa56

Group video and audio calls for up to 50 people

In the web version, you can launch a group video call. In the chat, tap the “handset” icon — the call will be sent to all participants in the chat, so all participants in the group chat can hold a video conference of up to 50 people. The user can turn on the camera and not turn it on, but simply participate in a video conference via audio.
On average, messengers that support the function of video calls in high quality, hold a video stream of no more than 8–10 people. In a Tkey Messenger, group conferences support up to 50 people. Soon-public online broadcasts and streams.
On the call page, you can conveniently distribute the Windows of the connected video stream.
https://preview.redd.it/qf85k37kxe651.png?width=744&format=png&auto=webp&s=8074a48fca7ea492376460d5c15f1de27722f7ea

Unlimited private group chats

The first version only supports private chats and group chats. Group chats are also completely private, so there is no “Share” function, only the chat participant can invite another participant to the group chat.
Create your thematic chats. Work. Family. Friends. Be the first while we develop. Soon-public channels and chats.
Anyone can start an audio or video call, and the notification goes through all participants. Switching to audio or video mode can be switched right at the moment of the call.
As we have already mentioned, group chats are completely private. You can make video and audio calls, send messages, and invite other participants.
To invite a new chat participant, any user can invite another user to a group chat. To do this, click on the “three points” menu icon.

https://preview.redd.it/cyfuh6snxe651.png?width=428&format=png&auto=webp&s=ee38ed7f20fed0bcb576279a6701397cd777e913
Next, enter the nickname of the participant you want to invite to the group chat in the search.

https://preview.redd.it/v7pltoppxe651.png?width=367&format=png&auto=webp&s=71d71bb795b312b4607d2033eee4c3a29f3b7500

Deleting information in group chats

Each participant, when they click the “Exit and delete” button, deletes messages and information from the chat on their side.
In group chats, all information is deleted by the last person to leave the group chat. After deleting-all messages, media, photos, and other data that were in this chat are automatically deleted. If all participants leave the group chat, it will be automatically deleted, and all information published in the group chat will also be deleted.

The chat between the two parties

This is a classic private chat between two participants, instant messaging, sending media.
The rights of the participants are equal. Any chat participant can delete the entire chat. after deleting all messages, media, photos, and other data that was in this chat, it is automatically deleted.

My own full node!

After yesterday's thread, I decided I wanted to run my own full node, partially to see how hard it was to do it, but more importantly to a) help myself validate my own transactions and b) help the network's decentralization.
Well, I'm happy to say that it took less than an hour to get setup. I've used the script curl https://bitnodes.earn.com/install-full-node.sh | sh to get started. It literally takes care of 95% of the work, only thing missing is to adjust the settings in bitcoin.conf.
Since I expected it would be much harder I decided to setup an Electrum Personal Server. It also took much much less than I expected, probably had it up and running 15 minutes from the moment I opened it's github page.
I'm super happy to have my own node. It certainly isn't perfect since I'm using a VPS to run it, but I'll be getting a $50 Raspberry Pi and running it at home as soon as possible.
If you have never looked into running a full node I very much encourage you to do it, it's SO much easier than people make it out to be and you'll be doing a great service to yourself and the network.

Is it normal for a new Full Node server to repeatedly show Potential Sale Tip detected messages? What does this even mean. I surprisingly can't find anything with a solution on the internet. Please look at my log dump and give me an idea what to do. Im trying to run a full node in service to the net

Here is my log messages:

Running Two GPUs- This is a tricky one.

Hello!
I'm trying to get a (remarkably unorthodox) multi-GPU setup working with my system. In short, I'm trying to pair an Nvidia GTX 1050ti and a Quadra FX580 on the same Windows 10 system. My motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-A320M-S2H.
The 1050ti is installed in the PCiE x16 slot, and the Quadro FX580 is installed in one of the PCiE 1x slots via a 1x -> 16x riser card(typically used by bitcoin miners). Windows 10 recognizes both devices in the device manager. Yes, I understand the bottlenecks, warnings, and otherwise ridiculous nature of this setup, but I just needs it for additional monitor outputs. Buying a completely new 10-series GPU or new motherboard is out of the budget(already had the Quadro FX580 on hand), and USB-based video cards are too unreliable and underperforming for what we're after. This is what we've tried so far and the results we've gotten:
Here's where things get interesting.
Booting into Linux, both GPUs work with no issues, right off the bat.
Booting into Windows 10 safe mode and running DDU (followed by a reboot back into safe mode) enables both GPUs, and they both work. Which suggests that Windows 10 is definitely capable of operating in this configuration. However, attempting to install either driver for either card (or even just letting Windows do so on its own) breaks the FX580 and enables only the 1050 ti, giving a "Code 43" for the FX580 in device manager.
I'm completely perplexed. Drivers for the FX580 aren't important, as it's just for additional screen real estate, though being able to run the latest drivers for the 1050ti would be nice for best game performance. Is there a way to "lock" the working Microsoft Basics Display Driver to the FX580, keeping it in a working state and allowing the 1050ti to be updated? My friend did this successfully with his personal system with a 1080ti and an old ATI card and it was plug-and-play; both cards worked great and there were no driver issues, so I'm completely stumped as to why this configuration is giving me so much trouble(He is stumped on this problem as well)
Any insight or help would be greatly appreciated!

Running a Bitcoin node on a $11.99 SBC

Running a Bitcoin node on a $11.99 SBC
Just wanted to let you guys know that I'm successfully running a (pruned) Bitcoin node + TOR on a $11.99 single board computer (Rock Pi S).
The SBC contains a Rockchip RK3308 Quad A35 64bit processor, 512MB RAM, RJ45 Ethernet and USB2 port and I'm using a 64GB SDCard. It runs a version of Armbian (410MB free). There's a new version available that even gives you 480MB RAM, but I'm waiting for Bitcoin Core 0.19 before upgrading.
To speed things up I decided to run Bitcoin Core on a more powerful device to sync the whole blockchain to an external HDD. After that I made a copy and ran it in pruned mode to end up with the last 5GB of the blockchain. I copied the data to the SD card and ran it on the Rock Pi S. After verifying all blocks it runs very smoothly. Uptime at the moment is 15 days.
I guess you could run a full node as well if you put in a 512GB SDcard.
The Rock Pi S was sold out, but if anybody is interested, they started selling a new batch of Rock Pi S v1.2 from today.
Screenshot of resources being used
Bitcoin Core info
Around 1.5 GB is being transferred every day
---
Some links and a short How to for people that want to give it a try:
  1. This is the place where I bought the Rock Pi S.
  2. Here you find more information about Armbian on the Rock Pi S. Flash it to your SDCard. Follow these instructions.
  3. Disable ZRAM swap on Armbian. If you don't do this eventually Bitcoin Core will crash. nano /etc/default/armbian-zram-config ENABLED=false
  4. Enable SWAP on Armbian sudo fallocate -l 1G /swapfile sudo chmod 600 /swapfile sudo mkswap /swapfile sudo swapon /swapfile sudo swapon --show sudo cp /etc/fstab /etc/fstab.bak echo '/swapfile none swap sw 0 0' | sudo tee -a /etc/fstab
  5. Set up UFW Firewall sudo ufw default deny incoming sudo ufw default allow outgoing sudo ufw allow ssh # we want to allow ssh connections or else we won’t be able to login. sudo ufw allow 8333 # port 8333 is used for bitcoin nodes sudo ufw allow 9051 # port 9051 is used for tor sudo ufw logging on sudo ufw enable sudo ufw status
  6. Add user Satoshi so you don't run the Bitcoin Core as root sudo adduser satoshi --home /home/satoshi --disabled-login sudo passwd satoshi # change passwd sudo usermod -aG sudo satoshi # add user to sudo group
  7. Download (ARM64 version) and install Bitcoin Core Daemon
  8. Download and install TOR (optional). I followed two guides. This one and this one.
  9. Create a bitcoin.conf config file in the .bitcoin directory. Mine looks like this: daemon=1 prune=5000 dbcache=300 maxmempool=250 onlynet=onion proxy=127.0.0.1:9050 bind=127.0.0.1 #Add seed nodes seednode=wxvp2d4rspn7tqyu.onion seednode=bk5ejfe56xakvtkk.onion seednode=bpdlwholl7rnkrkw.onion seednode=hhiv5pnxenvbf4am.onion seednode=4iuf2zac6aq3ndrb.onion seednode=nkf5e6b7pl4jfd4a.onion seednode=xqzfakpeuvrobvpj.onion seednode=tsyvzsqwa2kkf6b2.onion #And/or add some nodes addnode=gyn2vguc35viks2b.onion addnode=kvd44sw7skb5folw.onion addnode=nkf5e6b7pl4jfd4a.onion addnode=yu7sezmixhmyljn4.onion addnode=3ffk7iumtx3cegbi.onion addnode=3nmbbakinewlgdln.onion addnode=4j77gihpokxu2kj4.onion addnode=5at7sq5nm76xijkd.onion addnode=77mx2jsxaoyesz2p.onion addnode=7g7j54btiaxhtsiy.onion ddnode=a6obdgzn67l7exu3.onion
  10. Start Bitcoin Daemon with the command bitcoind -listenonion
Please note that I'm not a professional. So if anything above is not 100% correct, let me know and I will change it, but this is my setup at the moment.

Is installing and compiling libraries as extremely frustrating and impossible for others as it is for me?

I don't know if it's my unconventional programming setup (VirtualBox Ubuntu 18), but I have never been able to simply follow the steps to compile a project or application without major problems happening.
Here are all some examples from me trying to build openpose tonight. It's what prompted me to make this post:
  1. Cmake must be updated because, for some reason, the default apt-get cmake is still the version from 2017!
  2. I had to specifically install python3.7-dev instead of python 3.6-dev even though everyone builds openpose with python3.5-dev (which I couldn't install).
  3. I had to mix and match commands from three different tutorials because following just one of any of them resulted in errors.
  4. Openpose would not compile because there was a typo in one of the third-party libraries that I found out only after diving deep into github. I had to vim and manually edit the source code to fix this one.
This sounds a bit whiny, and it may just be only to whine. But is this really how major packages are dealt with?
This is just one example, a month ago I spent a whole day just to compile a library by Google called mediapipe. In between these examples have been dozens of other libraries and packages where following the instructions was not sufficient and I needed to dive deep into terminology way above my head to try and debug some stupid problems and it seems to not be getting easier with time.
It just seems like such a major headache and the solutions are so arcane that I can't fathom how anyone even came up with them? It just looks like: Oh, simply apt-get llldldlepellelpv=3.5 the lllldldldelep3.5.1 has the bug on line 3,884 and then copy it into this other directory and make sure it's not done past 2PM otherwise you also have to meet this dependency by sacrificing your 3rd most valued possession by chucking it out of the 4 story apartment (incompatible with non-4-story apartments). This result will then be the 5th post on stack overflow and the only one that works. The others just reiterate the exact things you've already tried in judgemental tones or just go off the deep end completely with some insane-tier fixes, including running overcomplicated batch scripts they made which who knows what they do other than probably remotely install a bitcoin miner.
Plus not to mention that I'm trying to code with some of my classmates and the outcome of each of our slightly different setups results in every possible combination of bugs. No single set of instructions will make a major library compile on all of our ubuntu setups.
The setup of libraries (not even talking about incorporating them into my own project so that mine will compile alongside them) is just an extremely frustrating process. What are the secrets to doing it right and being able to know which magic commands fix the bugs?

Deployed (on server) Django 3 project doesn't sees static files

#Deployed #Django3 #not #loands #static #files Deployed (on server) Django 3 project doesn't sees static and css files(whole static folder), the local on development machine works perfectly.

What I have tried to solve it
- look for server access log
- run ```/valog/nginx/access.log``` result: ```-bash: /valog/nginx/access.log: Permission denied```
- run ```sudo /valog/nginx/access.log``` result: ```sudo: /valog/nginx/access.log: command not found```
- changing nginx file
... location /static/ { root /home/myserverusemyowndjango-project/myowndjango/static; } location /media/ { root /home/myserverusemyowndjango-project/myowndjango/media; } ...
- Running
python3 manage.py collectstatic
(restarted nginx and gunicorn) and it still does the same error.

Thank you for the help.

Groestlcoin 6th Anniversary Release

Introduction

Dear Groestlers, it goes without saying that 2020 has been a difficult time for millions of people worldwide. The groestlcoin team would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone our best to everyone coping with the direct and indirect effects of COVID-19. Let it bring out the best in us all and show that collectively, we can conquer anything.
The centralised banks and our national governments are facing unprecedented times with interest rates worldwide dropping to record lows in places. Rest assured that this can only strengthen the fundamentals of all decentralised cryptocurrencies and the vision that was seeded with Satoshi's Bitcoin whitepaper over 10 years ago. Despite everything that has been thrown at us this year, the show must go on and the team will still progress and advance to continue the momentum that we have developed over the past 6 years.
In addition to this, we'd like to remind you all that this is Groestlcoin's 6th Birthday release! In terms of price there have been some crazy highs and lows over the years (with highs of around $2.60 and lows of $0.000077!), but in terms of value– Groestlcoin just keeps getting more valuable! In these uncertain times, one thing remains clear – Groestlcoin will keep going and keep innovating regardless. On with what has been worked on and completed over the past few months.

UPDATED - Groestlcoin Core 2.18.2

This is a major release of Groestlcoin Core with many protocol level improvements and code optimizations, featuring the technical equivalent of Bitcoin v0.18.2 but with Groestlcoin-specific patches. On a general level, most of what is new is a new 'Groestlcoin-wallet' tool which is now distributed alongside Groestlcoin Core's other executables.
NOTE: The 'Account' API has been removed from this version which was typically used in some tip bots. Please ensure you check the release notes from 2.17.2 for details on replacing this functionality.

ALL NEW - Groestlcoin Moonshine iOS/Android Wallet

Built with React Native, Moonshine utilizes Electrum-GRS's JSON-RPC methods to interact with the Groestlcoin network.
GRS Moonshine's intended use is as a hot wallet. Meaning, your keys are only as safe as the device you install this wallet on. As with any hot wallet, please ensure that you keep only a small, responsible amount of Groestlcoin on it at any given time.

ALL NEW! – HODL GRS Android Wallet

HODL GRS connects directly to the Groestlcoin network using SPV mode and doesn't rely on servers that can be hacked or disabled.
HODL GRS utilizes AES hardware encryption, app sandboxing, and the latest security features to protect users from malware, browser security holes, and even physical theft. Private keys are stored only in the secure enclave of the user's phone, inaccessible to anyone other than the user.
Simplicity and ease-of-use is the core design principle of HODL GRS. A simple recovery phrase (which we call a Backup Recovery Key) is all that is needed to restore the user's wallet if they ever lose or replace their device. HODL GRS is deterministic, which means the user's balance and transaction history can be recovered just from the backup recovery key.

ALL NEW! – GroestlcoinSeed Savior

Groestlcoin Seed Savior is a tool for recovering BIP39 seed phrases.
This tool is meant to help users with recovering a slightly incorrect Groestlcoin mnemonic phrase (AKA backup or seed). You can enter an existing BIP39 mnemonic and get derived addresses in various formats.
To find out if one of the suggested addresses is the right one, you can click on the suggested address to check the address' transaction history on a block explorer.

ALL NEW! – Vanity Search Vanity Address Generator

NOTE: NVidia GPU or any CPU only. AMD graphics cards will not work with this address generator.
VanitySearch is a command-line Segwit-capable vanity Groestlcoin address generator. Add unique flair when you tell people to send Groestlcoin. Alternatively, VanitySearch can be used to generate random addresses offline.
If you're tired of the random, cryptic addresses generated by regular groestlcoin clients, then VanitySearch is the right choice for you to create a more personalized address.
VanitySearch is a groestlcoin address prefix finder. If you want to generate safe private keys, use the -s option to enter your passphrase which will be used for generating a base key as for BIP38 standard (VanitySearch.exe -s "My PassPhrase" FXPref). You can also use VanitySearch.exe -ps "My PassPhrase" which will add a crypto secure seed to your passphrase.
VanitySearch may not compute a good grid size for your GPU, so try different values using -g option in order to get the best performances. If you want to use GPUs and CPUs together, you may have best performances by keeping one CPU core for handling GPU(s)/CPU exchanges (use -t option to set the number of CPU threads).

If you're tired of the random, cryptic bech32 addresses generated by regular Groestlcoin clients, then Groestlcoin EasyVanity2020 is the right choice for you to create a more personalised bech32 address. This 2020 version uses the new VanitySearch to generate not only legacy addresses (F prefix) but also Bech32 addresses (grs1 prefix).

ALL NEW! – Electrum Personal Server

Groestlcoin Electrum Personal Server aims to make using Electrum Groestlcoin wallet more secure and more private. It makes it easy to connect your Electrum-GRS wallet to your own full node.
It is an implementation of the Electrum-grs server protocol which fulfils the specific need of using the Electrum-grs wallet backed by a full node, but without the heavyweight server backend, for a single user. It allows the user to benefit from all Groestlcoin Core's resource-saving features like pruning, blocks only and disabled txindex. All Electrum-GRS's feature-richness like hardware wallet integration, multi-signature wallets, offline signing, seed recovery phrases, coin control and so on can still be used, but connected only to the user's own full node.
Full node wallets are important in Groestlcoin because they are a big part of what makes the system be trust-less. No longer do people have to trust a financial institution like a bank or PayPal, they can run software on their own computers. If Groestlcoin is digital gold, then a full node wallet is your own personal goldsmith who checks for you that received payments are genuine.
Full node wallets are also important for privacy. Using Electrum-GRS under default configuration requires it to send (hashes of) all your Groestlcoin addresses to some server. That server can then easily spy on your transactions. Full node wallets like Groestlcoin Electrum Personal Server would download the entire blockchain and scan it for the user's own addresses, and therefore don't reveal to anyone else which Groestlcoin addresses they are interested in.
Groestlcoin Electrum Personal Server can also broadcast transactions through Tor which improves privacy by resisting traffic analysis for broadcasted transactions which can link the IP address of the user to the transaction. If enabled this would happen transparently whenever the user simply clicks "Send" on a transaction in Electrum-grs wallet.
Note: Currently Groestlcoin Electrum Personal Server can only accept one connection at a time.

Groestlcoin Sentinel is a great solution for anyone who wants the convenience and utility of a hot wallet for receiving payments directly into their cold storage (or hardware wallets).
Sentinel accepts XPUB's, YPUB'S, ZPUB's and individual Groestlcoin address. Once added you will be able to view balances, view transactions, and (in the case of XPUB's, YPUB's and ZPUB's) deterministically generate addresses for that wallet.
Groestlcoin Sentinel is a fork of Groestlcoin Samourai Wallet with all spending and transaction building code removed.

I have a small datacenter (3x 2U servers, all dual socket x79 systems with 64gb ram each, RAID) + Gig Upload; how can I make nodes and help you guys?

I'm a big supporter of the purpose of bitcoin and the Lightning? network. I hope I'm getting this right, don't eat me alive.

That being said, I have a small datacenter setup that has more or less run its course and I'd like to dedicate it to the bitcoin network with the hopes of having it pay for itself a little bit. (no longer training in virtualization) After doing a bit of reading, there's a lot of back and forth about how to add your wallet, how to get properly setup, using the cl and so forth.

I'd like to set it all up on ubuntu server. Each one of my servers can support about 20 or so VMs.. 20c/40t.
I might need more ram, but with the power of ebay, that's easily obtainable.
can anyone run me through proper setup so that the network can benefit? I don't mind paying you for your time.
